Where the hell do I start??
Ok.
Let's take a deep breath, compose ourselves...
Context. Right. Ok. I've just watched Glee Season 2, Episode 6 AKA Never Been Kissed. Before I even saw the episode I was excited for it, because of the introduction of Blaine, played by Darren Criss. So in my post-watch excitement, I shall *try* to write a somewhat coherent (gushing) review of it.
I apologise in advance for the stream of consciousness-ness of this.
And TL,DR: Glee is totally awesome.

Finished ma project... Oh yeah!
Are you proud of me? I am... a bit lol. Glad it's out the way.
Anyone else think this quote is just perfect? I swear I've never felt like a fully fledged adult yet. Probably doesn't help that I still haven't left home properly, and the Bank of Mum and Dad™ still help out quite a bit...
I've always liked to think of studenthood as practice for the real world and actual adulthood. You act like an adult, but only have some of the real responsibilities of an adult. You slowly take on more and more of these responsibilities for yourself over the course of one's studenthood. First: feeding yourself, washing your own clothes, making sure you get to lectures on time. Second: paying bills, realising that going out the night before a 9.15 am lecture is nigh-on impossible etc. The last step is actually leaving home properly and becoming fully independent of the parentals (well, as much as that is possible lol). You know, having a job and salary, your own flat, a dog, etc. I think I'm probably a few years off this step, what with the wanting to do medicine but eventually I get there. One day.
So yeah, there's my thought of the day.
Randomosity: I think I'm gonna get this. Just something I can do when my brain is fried during the next few months. Might actually help me think straight as I doodle and scribble stuff...
Also found out that Brian Jacques, the author of the Redwall series passed away over the weekend. That's sad. I used to love his books as a kid. Might have to reread them at some point...
Well that's a little annoying... Can't get the Amazon thingy to work.
“Another belief of mine: that everyone else my age is an adult, whereas I am merely in disguise.”

Or is it just me that can't see it?
Whatever.

Blog Revamp
Hey everyone,
Went for a total revamp of the blog... because I didn't like the old layout anymore. This one is much better...
Coursework is... going. 3 days left to finish it, i.e. the real work starts now lol. Though my computer went on the fritz today, which is ALWAYS reassuring... Please, Donald II, please hold it together until at least Monday. Then you can have a bit of a holiday. I promise.
And yes, I named my laptop Donald II. My first Mac was Donald I. Stop judging/laughing.

Nefertiti by Michelle Moran. The book I just read.
I just started a new reading spree (most would generally consider it bad time what with university work to be doing but... whatever).
I finished the book Nerfertiti by Michelle Moran a few days ago. It is the story of the rise of Nefertiti, chief wife and queen to the Pharaoh Amunhotep IV, of the 18th dynasty. Nefertiti is, of course, quite famous. Considered one of the most beautiful women to have ever lived. Her life captured the world's imagination when her bust was found and displayed at the Ägyptisches Museum, Berlin.
The story, however is told from the perspective of Mutnodjmet, Nefertiti's younger half sister and closest ally/friend/confidante/etc.
After some judicious Wikipediaing as I went along, it becomes apparent that this era was quite a turbulent time, with religious reform and a petulant, unstable monarch on the throne.
You know what? This is starting to sound very familiar to another book I read. You've probably heard of it, read it even: The Other Boleyn Girl by Philipa Gregory.
Let's see...

Belated New Year's Resolution
Morning/Afternoon/Evening...
Despite it being the end of January (finally!), I'm going to make a new New Year's Resolution. I am going to try to blog on here more. Even if it's just talk about nothing in particular, but I am going to try.
Well, this was a useful procrastination post. I feel like I have had something I should be working on since November... my mind is just not cooperating anymore. Very frustrating! It's like I KNOW I have to do the work. I sit at my desk staring at it, and my brain just wanders off and thinks about the book I read this week, the fact I'd really like to go to see Tangled soon, or that Got To Dance is on tonight, and I'd quite like to watch it. This is not conducive to completing this project. Neither is writing this, but... shhhh!
Also, what doesn't help is that all my housemates have finished exams/ don't have work to do. I'm not begrudging them but still... doesn't help the concentration sitch.
And if anyone has any expertise in GPCRs and desensitisation, please shout ;)
On the plus side, this whole having loads of work thing has meant I have put together a pretty awesome
study playlist. It's still a work in progress but yeah, awesome playlist lol.
Well, I better actually go and get on with this work I've just complained about. Looking forward to 7th Feb! Partay time! Lol

Stuff and Anna and the French Kiss
To start on a particularly geeky note, I finished reading DH en français a few months ago. It took me a good few months, started at the start of summer but was determined to finish it before the DH Part 1 came out. I think it actually made me read it more closely, so I still enjoyed it as much as I did (though being my favourite of the series probably helped...).
For those interested:
Poulard = Hogwarts
Poufsouffle = Hufflepuff
Tom Jedusor = Tom Riddle
Rogue = Snape
Moldus = Muggles
For more go here: L'encyclopédie d'Harry Potter
Well, I was impressed with myself... lol. Might attempt Twilight (La Fascination) next (though compared to HP, it looks really easy), or maybe HP1 or 6 in deutsch (which looks REALLY hard)?
So. To the title subject of this post: Anna and the French Kiss.
This is a book written by Stephanie Perkins, that I saw mention around the forests of Twitter in the past few weeks. I trust my Twitter people in terms of what's good to read so I just bit the bullet as it were and ordered it off of Amazon. Few days later it popped through my letter box, and omg. It's amazing.
(More review after the jump.)
